Environmental Regulations – What Safety Professionals Need to Know

In the past, industries claimed they didn't realize what they were emitting into the air, waterways and ground and the effects it would have on our environment. Abandoned industrial sites and misused landfills are still being cleaned up by the Environmental Protection Agency’s (EPA) "Superfund" program. There are approximately 30 Federal Acts that pertain to environmental affairs based on air, water and land.

As more safety professionals assume environmental responsibilities within their organizations, the five major environmental regulations that touch on almost every industry become even more important for us to understand.

Salvatore Caccavale, CPEA, author of ASSE’s Understanding Solid and Hazardous Waste Management - A Basic Guide, will present “Environmental Regulations - What Safety Professionals Need to know”.  Attendees can look forward to attaining a better understanding of how these key regulations work, from an explanation of the regulation to how it applies to an operating facility.
