Risk Communication: A Critical Component in Achieving ISO 45001 Objectives

The safety-minded organizations who plan to adopt ISO 45001 will be looking for concrete methods to demonstrate their commitment to continually improve their company's health and safety culture in line with the new standard. Intelligently designed ANSI/ISO safety sign systems will be an integral part of an ISO 45001 risk communication/risk reduction strategy, to communicate residual risks to workers, subcontractors and guests.

The latest standards and building codes, in the area of safety signage, will give safety professionals globally-accepted, graphically-based methods to effectively:

  • Identify hazards and how to avoid them
  • Mark the location of fire and safety equipment
  • Reinforce security and access policies, and
  • Mark emergency egress routes and assembly areas

This session will provide technically sound, up-to-date, and practical advice on how to intelligently plan and implement these sign systems. Geoffrey Peckham will present session Risk Communication: A Critical Component in Achieving ISO 45001 Objectives. Take back tools to globally communicate risk and reinforce an organization's procedures, safety training and use of PPE. Follow the development of the standards through ASSE http://iso45001.asse.org.
